WHY NOT BRIDGE?
Violence:
     Weapons or heavy objects should
      not be present at the Bridge table
Addictive:
     BPA (Bridge Players Anonymous)
     meetings are held every Tuesday
Ego Debilitating:
     Especially if you lose
Competitive:
     Still itís just a card game; even
     though it is a matter of life and death.
The Great Escape:
      Players often forget about eating,
      sleeping, sex, the movies, etc.
Can lead to:
     Loss of  job
     Dropping out of school
     Divorce

WHY BRIDGE?
Mental Aerobics
Therapy:
     Specially good for dealing with
     personal loss or loss of keys or 
     glasses
Social:
     Meet new people and some old 
     people
Fun:
     One of the main reasons for doing 
     anything
Challenging
Ego Enhancing:
     Only if you win
Longevity:
     Bridge players do live longer
     (according to the ACBL*)
Can lead to:
     Divorce

Actually a game called Triumph preceded Whist. Edmond Hoyle converted Triumph to Whist in the early 18th century. The word Trump comes from the word Triumph. But more of that later on.
