DISTRACTION

Discuss the day's news (which is mostly politics, terrorism, or the latest kidnapping/murder/rape case) with your partner or your opponents. The more in depth the better. See if some of the gory details can induce nausea or at least a case of mild disgust. Besides causing the opposition to misplay or mis-defend, this tactic can often cause them to leave the room.
Reading a book or newspaper, and looking up casually to make the occasional bid or play can be both distracting and intimidating. This double hitter is even more effective when you make a passing comment.
Eating or drinking is often distracting, especially if something is spilled. Hot coffee (best black with no sugar) on your opponents lap always works. Removing an article of clothing can also be distracting and can even cause your opponent or partner to spill something, which compounds the distraction still further. Do not be insulted if the opponents walk out after most of your clothing is removed.
Leaving your cell phone on and having some one call you every three minutes can cause your opponents to react violently and is not recommended. But worth a try if the opposition is small, old, weak or infirm.
